As per the Interview Guys, a resume objective is “a short and targeted statement which clearly highlights your career direction while also positioning you as someone who fits exactly as what the employer is looking for.”

It’s to mention that there’s a difference between a resume summary and an objective statement. A resume summary mainly highlights past jobs and experience. A career objective statement has much of a forward-focus and with past experiences, exemplifies or predicts your future performance.

You should include the proper piece based on what you’re intending to achieve, and who you expect is seeing your resume. A cover letter does more or less the same thing as a resume summary, but can only elaborate with details.
