Automatic Spiral Punching Machine -Mechanical Project

This project is developed for the users to control a spiral punching machine automatically.  It consists of sensors, Controlling unit, driver section and relay section Gears and Motor setup.
When the user inserts the paper, the sensor senses and it sends signal to the controlling section. The controlling section analyses the signal and accordingly it operates the motor. The motor has inbuilt gear setup to reduce the speed and increase the power.
The motor operates the punching section to punch the paper. The punching section consists of punching rods connected with a moving frame. The moving frame moves up and down according to the operation of the motor. It uses PIC16F73 (28 pin Micro controller). The micro controller controls the entire operation. The micro controller program is written in assembly language.  This punching machine reduces the man work and the operations are very accurate.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

When the user inserts the paper, the sensor senses the paper and sends signal to the microcontroller. The microcontroller operates a motor in one direction and the motor drives the driver gear and there by it drives the driven gear to move the punching machine down. Then the microcontroller operates the motor in opposite direction to move the punching machine up.

ADVANTAGES

1. Since the machine is operated automatically, it requires less man power.
2. Since the speed is more than that of the manual setup, it is time consuming.
3. It can be used for mass production.
