Solidworks for Students 2018 – How to Buy Solidworks Student Edition

SOLIDWORKS Student Edition:

With SOLIDWORKS skills, you’ll have a clear advantage in the engineering or industrial design job markets. The easy-to-use SOLIDWORKS Student Edition lets you sharpen your skills outside the classroom as you learn to design better products.

SOLIDWORKS Student Edition is available to high school, home schooled and degree-seeking students (who can confirm enrollment in a degree-granting program or full-time enrollment in a certificate-granting program) or full-time faculty members using the software for personal learning or academic purposes. Commercial and institutional use is prohibited.

Three types of Student Products

a. Student Design Kit (SDK):
If you have obtained a SDK-ID from your local reseller then you can go to www.SOLIDWORKS.com/SDK and fill out the form shown below to start the download process. You will receive your serial number via email. Note: Please check your junk mail if you do not see it within an hour of submitting the form.

b. Student Engineering Kit (SEK):
If your school is eligible then they should have received this serial number as well as an SEK-ID from your Local reseller. Once you have obtained both of these, you can go to www.SOLIDWORKS.com/SEK and fill out the form shown below to start the download process.

c. Student Edition (SE):
These licenses can be purchased online through a Local Reseller or the SOLIDWORKS Student Store (https://store.solidworks.com/studentstore/default.php). If you requested an online download instead of the DVDs then you will receive installation instructions via email.

Proof of Academic Status Requirements

Students
Degree-seeking students taking a minimum of 6 units in high school, college, university, and career state-accredited schools qualify to order a single-user educational license with acceptable form of academic ID.

Please provide all the following:
Dated student ID card
AND
Official dated current class schedule
