HYDRAULIC CONTROLLED JCB MACHINE -Mechanical Project

SYNOPSIS

 
JCB machine is a type of crane, which contains horizontal member called arm, movable unit and mounted pillar. JCB machines are used in industrial application and also in constructional purposes. It may be fitted to top of the floor and is used to lift the heavy loads from one location to another location in industries. This system of hydraulic cylinder arrangement has high strength than pneumatic arrangement.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

 
This arrangement contains DC motor, hydraulic bottle jack, crane, and worm gear arrangement. The piston rod inside the hydraulic bottle jack actuates when the pump is actuated. Then the hydraulic cylinder actuates with the help of fluid pressure. A worm gear arrangement is coupled at the end of DC motor shaft. The gear arrangement is coupled to another vertical shaft which is mounted to the base frame with help of bearing for smooth rotating motion. This is helpful to operate in other directions also. When the hydraulic jack which is placed on the vehicle as shown in the figure is actuated the height of the arm can be adjusted. The crane hook is fixed at the end of the arm.

But the construction of this system is difficult than other system and the main disadvantage of the system is leakage of fluid which affects the working efficiency. The hydraulic fluid must be stored inside the tank which must be attached to the unit.

ADVANTAGES

  1. Less coefficient of friction
  2. More efficient
  3. Power can be easily transmission 
  4. Portable

DISADVANTAGES

  1. High storage space required.
  2. Difficult in construction.

APPLICATION

It is applicable in small and large scale industries and in constructional applications.
